In 1993, ALSWA organised a competition for community members to design a logo for the organisation.
This was to utilise the talent, expertise and skill of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and to ensure their participation in ALSWA’s development.
The competition proved to be very successful and the high calibre of entries made the selection process difficult.
ALSWA’s governing Board of Directors made its selection at its Broome meeting in June 1993. The winning entry was from Mr Darren J Ogilvie and this logo became the official logo of the organisation, until it was updated in 2024 to coincide with the 50th commemorations of ALSWA.
